Woodend Farm VMS Start Up

in General March 6, 2023

We are delighted to have had a smooth start up at Woodend Farm, Balfron and would like to thank Andrew Patterson for choosing us to do business with.

Two DeLaval VMS V300’s were installed in his new cow shed which offers improved comfort for cows, but also energy efficiency has been taken in to consideration. The start up for these was smooth for the cows and Andrew.

A DeLaval 11,000 litre milk silo has been installed for milk storage, DeLaval variable speed vacuum pumps which are more energy efficient.
In addition to the robotic milking machines, an Opti-duo was also installed to regularly reposition and refresh feed. Also the DeLaval Robotic Scraper to keep passages clean.
DeLaval Footbaths have been installed on the exit of each robot, and DeLaval Cow Brushes are fitted in two locations in the shed.
DairyLights have also been fitted to regulate the Circadian Rhythm and, in turn, Melatonin secretion for the cows.

To ensure the slurry is as nutrient dense as possible and always in a pumpable state, DairyPower’s Slurry Aeration System has been fitted to the slurry tank, this means no disruption for mixing and also it is safer for the cows and staff in terms of dangerous gases.

Two Collinson feed silos were also supplied to this project.
