The Hayhurst family from Kendal were looking for options to make feeding calves more efficient and physically easier.
It was a visit to the Fullwoodhead at the Royal Highland Show where the Hayhursts met sale representative David Thomson. Lizzie Hayhurst said: “David discussed Holm & Laue’s Milk Taxi and we invited him to visit us for to continue discussions. He visited the farm and we also got the Milk Taxi on demonstration for a week, we knew the machine was for us.”
“It has made calf feeding so much easier, now we do not have to carry multiple buckets of milk throughout the farm. It also gives the calves the proper mixture at the right temperature and consistency that we want for each individual calf giving them the best possible start in life.”
Lizzie continued: “Since the Milk Taxi has been on farm, we have noticed that the calves are much better and stronger. It doesn’t matter who uses the Milk Taxi on the farm - the calves are getting the proper consistency and temperature of milk every time they are fed. Every day, all year round.
