The other hat I wear is looking after social media for the company.
Before I joined Fullwoodhead about a year ago I was a laboratory analyst. What I love about this job, as compared to that, is the variety. No two days are the same and I just love the range of tasks.
I wanted career progression and so coming here has allowed me to do so many different things and to try new things. I really enjoy working in a field so close to agriculture. My dad is an agricultural engineer and so I’ve always been interested in this line of work.
Adding social media to the mix has been great. There was a vacancy and I was delighted to take on the extension to my role. The company are supporting me to undertake an SVQ in Social Media and Marketing, which I do online after work, and so I am upskilling and learning all the time, both on and off the job. All the work I do during my 9 to 5 counts towards my qualification and so everyone benefits.
The best part of my job is definitely the chance to meet and get to know people. I love speaking to customers, colleagues and suppliers as well as helping customers and ‘speaking’ to people through social media.
I am really happy in my role. Down the line I hope that I can keep the variety, continue to improve on all the processes I use at work and carry on learning. The management team here are great. They are so knowledgeable but also very supportive. They are always at the end of the phone if I need anything and as keen as I am to see me progress.
